More than 130 visitors and almost 20 exhibitors came to the Schwabenlandhalle in Fellbach on February 12th and 13th, 2020 for the ROBOTER 2020 conference to discuss and obtain information about digitalisation and the use of robots in welding technology.
The main focus of interest was on topics such as manufacturing processes and process safety, modern operating concepts and training and further education. In 18 exciting and practical presentations, an overview of current trends in automated welding technology was given:
- Where are robots needed in medium-sized welding companies?
- Where does their use lead to practical and user-oriented solutions?
- And how does the daily work routine look like with or without them?
- What needs to be considered when integrating collaborating robots?
"Current developments under the impression of industry 4.0 and the will to further digitalisation are giving technical progress in robot technology a boost", explains Dipl.-Ing. Karsten Letz, technical consultant at DVS and contact person of the DVS working group "Mechanisation, automation and robot use in arc welding". He adds: "Well-known robot manufacturers, the DVS-recognised educational institutions and the DVS have developed a training concept that takes these developments into account. Welding technology expertise and robot operation must be brought together for the specialised personnel of the future".
The next ROBOTER conference of the DVS will take place again in Fellbach on 16th and 17th March 2022.
